Nitto's work is developed within a measured production system in which knitwear and tailoring interact as complementary languages. Sustainability is not approached as a programmatic statement, but as a daily practice, built through thoughtful and consistent choices throughout the entire production process. The design and development of garments follow a precise approach, focused on defining volumes, proportions, and constructions in both garments and fabrics. Each stage is guided by constant attention to quality, functionality, and durability, with a vision that favours balance over excess.
Production is exclusively made-to-order; for this reason, our stock is limited to samples and pieces for showrooms and photoshoots. This allows us to reduce costs and waste while maintaining a stock level close to zero.
Nitto relies on a select network of local workshops and companies, chosen for their specific skills and manufacturing culture. These are businesses with which the brand shares a way of working based on continuity, direct dialogue, and a deep understanding of craftsmanship. Geographical proximity allows us to maintain a close relationship with production processes and reduces the distance between design and execution, resulting in a “0 km” supply chain.
Alongside its local Italian production network, part of Nitto’s knitwear is developed in Peru through selected partners. This production model supports women’s economic indepence, preserves artisanal heritage, and promotes a sustainable local economy. All garments are made without child labour, under fair working conditions, and with compensation that reflects the time, technical complexity, and artisanal value of the work, fully respecting local labour regulations.
While not claiming total traceability, Nitto pursues a responsible approach focused on careful production practices compatible with an artisanal scale. Each collaboration is the result of constant dialogue, with the aim of maintaining consistency between creative vision, product quality, and respect for processes. With this in mind, the brand carefully monitors every stage of production, reducing waste and optimising the use of materials, confirming its sustainable and measured approach. At its headquarters, 100% of employees are women.
The choice of materials is central to this approach. Nitto uses natural fibres only, selected for their intrinsic qualities and ability to evolve over time. Accessories also follow the same logic: buttons are made exclusively from natural materials, chosen for their aesthetic and tactile continuity, without resorting to artificial solutions.
